Master Gardener
Master Gardener Training is taught in Cuyahoga County each winter. This intense ten week course in horticulture is geared to train gardeners in many areas of horticulture for their own self development and for volunteer service with the Extension office. Botany, propagation, woody and herbaceous ornamentals, turf and fruit are just a few of the topics covered in depth during the 60 hours of training.
Diagnostic Services
Samples can be mailed or dropped off at our office. Since we have a busy schedule, call ahead to see if staff will be available to evaluate your sample.
Access to complete diagnostic lab is available from C. Wayne Ellett Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic. Fees vary by type of sample and tests requested.
Soil Testing
Forms and information on submitting soil tests are available through our office or you can download the form from the UMass Soil Testing Lab.
Horticulture Social Therapy
Horticulture Social Therapy is Master Gardeners bringing the many benefits of gardening to groups with special needs such as elderly, physically or mentally challenged individuals.

Horticultural Help Line
The Master Gardener Help Line operates every Monday and Tuesday from 10:00am - 1:00pm during the growing season (May - October). A recording offering monthly gardening tips is available during Help Line office hours.
The Help Line Recording Tips is available 24 hours a day by calling 440-326-5862.
These are one to three pages of information on a single gardening topic. Factsheets are available online or through our office.
These are magazine length publications available through OSU Extension. Bulletins are available online. However, hard copies are available for a fee and can be requested through our office.
