The OSU Pesticide Safety Education Program has information on private and commercial pesticide applicator licensing. Licenses are issued by the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture after taking and passing the applicator test.

Things are not always as they seem.
Most gardens are planted by now, but homeowners will continue to fill in spots, replace plants and tweak the landscape. Garden centers are still well stocked with plant material to do so. However, as landscapes begin to mature, so do the insect and disease pests that feed on them. For instance, the fungal disease, anthracnose, has already caused major defoliation in sycamore, ash and oak trees.
