Biography:

Jacqueline Baca (Jacki) was raised on a family run dairy farm in Spencer, Ohio.  It is this upbringing that developed her work ethic and love for agriculture and the 4-H youth development program.  She received her B.S. in Agricultural Education from The Ohio State University and her M.A. in Agricultural and Extension Education from New Mexico State University.  Mrs. Baca is currently an OSU Extension Educator in 4-H Youth Development for Lorain County.  Prior to her service with Ohio 4-H, Jacki was in Santa Fe, NM working for New Mexico State University Extension as the 4-H/Family and Consumer Sciences Agent for 15 years.  During her service time with NMSU Extension Mrs. Baca spearheaded efforts to combat obesity and teach children about healthy lifestyles.  Results of this collaborative effort included, a $500,000 Children Youth and Families at Risk grant (2006-2011), publication of the, Just Be It! Healthy & Fit!  nutrition and fitness curriculum, and delivery of this program to over 3,000 youth in Northern NM.  Additionally, Mrs. Baca served three, three-year terms on the Western 4-H Institute (2010-2018); an intense week-long professional development opportunity for new 4-H professionals throughout the 13 Western states.  Her final term she provided overall leadership as co-chair for this committee.  Other employment experiences include Girl Scouts of the Rio Grande in Las Cruces, NM.
